What is and this too ?
And this too is my mantra for processing my trauma history. As memories started rising in me, I began to resist the seemingly endless streams of fear, sorrow, anger and tears. My resistance was not only attempting to deny what was coming up but it was also hindering my healing. I began to use and this too to help me process one memory surge or crying bout at a time. It helped me slow down, to recognize the truth of what was coming up and to release it so that healing could occur. Much like the waves in the ocean, I allowed each experience to have its moment to gather, crest, crash and recede. Allowing each one to have its cycle has helped me manage my healing. I found strength in knowing there is a pattern and I can ride each wave.
